This photo, taken from the Chasseral, shows a closer view of Lignières than the panorama of the three lakes region from the same location. Here, the Lac de Bienne / Bielersee is visible behind (and 400 metres below) the village, and the Lac de Morat / Murtensee is visible at the top right.
Fourmilab is in the cluster of buildings at the lower right of the “now” picture, none of which had been built at the time of the “then” image. There is no postmark or other indication of a date on this post card. It is evident from the growth of the trees that many years have elapsed since the “then” picture was taken.
