Spencil (and enthusiastic Treewalker)
Marein, who later became known as "Dancer" due
to her graceful steps on the road
Crescent and Spencil with loaded carts
The smaller, anticlockwise, section of the treewalk,
with their horses Johnny and Mouse. The two groups walked
an almost identical circular route around the country,
in opposite directions, meeting synchronistically
near the Hill of Tara (former home
of the High Kings of Ireland).
A typical treeplanting with schoolchildren - The
walk visited schools almost every weekday, talking
about the importance of trees, combined with music
and fun, before presenting trees to the school
for the children to plant and look after.
Treewalkers brighten up another town shopping
district with rhythm and smiles, cheerfully
busking for donations.
Consciousness-raising street art in Clonmel,
another source of donations for the walk.
Treewalkers stop for a teabreak while Spencil (in
the background) has a quick graze.
Music played a major role in the walk - here we
see a spontaneous traditional session breaking
out near Armagh (Northern Ireland) with bhodran, bazouki, fiddle, and guitar.
Rolling down the road, somewhere in Ireland...
