By default, Solar System Live shows planets as discs labeled with the symbol for each planet. You can choose to have the planets displayed as small images representing their actual appearance by checking the “Images” box. The icons and images are not to scale, neither with regard to one another nor with respect to the size of the solar system. Planets are dust modes in the endless void of space—if shown to scale they'd be less than single pixel in height. Click the “Update” button above to see the images instead of icons.
