Four-Handed Moai

This moai, the only one known to have four hands, is on a platform on private land which we arranged to visit. The arms come down at the sides and the hands are carved into the front. Well, you can see three, anyway; the bottom hand on the left is pretty much obscured by the white material.

The moai had been toppled and repaired with lighter-toned concrete. The pattern on the back of the moai is believed to represent tattoos.
