Ana Te Pahu, or the “Banana Cave”, is an extensive lava tube cave whose roof has collapsed in several places, forming a natural garden where banana trees and other flora grow from the cave floor toward the sky. There are long enclosed lava tubes you can explore between the open oases, which provide sufficient light to see where you're going.
