Our South Pole camp was about a kilometre from the Pole.
In a miniature of the Union Glacier camp, there were a small mess
tent, a tent for the staff, a toilet tent, and tents for guests.
The guest tents are the same as those used by staff at Union Glacier:
double-layer tents with an “atrium” to allow entry and
exit without venting the warm inside air. Outside it was around
−25° C, inside, sometimes too warm.
Here's the GPS reading within our tent.

Penguin hats at the Pole! (Not to mention fogged-up glasses.)
