Well, that'll have to do...
Yesterday's brief parting of the clouds which permitted
photographing the Sun and Moon in the same sky with the Earth near perihelion and the Moon near apogee appears to be the best opportunity I'm going to get. According to the forecast, it's snow as far as the weatherman can predict, and you can't see either the Sun or Moon through falling snow.
Still, I ain't complaining--this is the closest coincidence of an apogean full Moon with perihelion until 2014, and given the usual weather this time of year, being able to shoot the Sun and Moon between the clouds at the same time is rare enough to make you believe that
wishing for good weather really works.
