Hall Island Panorama

This panorama showing the coastline and sea around Cape Tegethoff of Hall Island in Franz Josef Land (80°5.70'N 58°3.23'E) was assembled from 19 handheld exposures taken from a fixed location on the shore of the island. Note the ship standing offshore visible on the horizon toward the right of the image. The blue colour of the ice and reddish hue of algæ recall the subdued yet gorgeous colour palette of the arctic. Arctic poppies brighten the otherwise bleak coastline.
