In the early days of AutoCAD, we attempted to support some truly awful hardware in the hopes that its manufacturers would help us promote AutoCAD. To give you a flavour of some of the things we tried, I'm including a description of the attempt to get AutoCAD-80 running on the DataType 150, an RS-232 graphics terminal. The DataType 150 was neither the best nor the worst device we attempted to support. It shared with the best and the worst one common attribute: we never sold a single AutoCAD configured for it.
